Are You Really Ready for Next?
We love to talk about our next.
The next promotion.
The next relationship.
The next business move.
The next level of health.
The next season of purpose.
But, are you actually ready for next? Not just in words. Not just with vision boards or motivational quotes. I mean in your daily actions, mindset, and discipline.
This realization didn’t come to me in a big moment of success or transformation. It came while I was about to buy a $700 juicer.
Yes, seven hundred dollars...for a juicer.
Now, I could have justified it. My current one is old and slow, and using it takes forever, but, before I clicked “buy,” I had to pause and ask myself a deeper question:
Am I truly committed to the journey or just buying into the idea of it?
And that’s when the bigger reflection hit me:
Kim, are you mentally ready for next?
We Prepare for What We’re Serious About
When we’re genuinely ready, we don’t just say it. We start creating space for it.
We shift our habits.
We make room.
We remove excuses.
We take care of what we already have.
Want a relationship? That’s beautiful but, are both sides of your closet still full? Is your schedule too packed for connection? You say you’re ready for love, but have you made space for it to enter?
Want that next-level promotion? Wonderful. How are you handling the responsibilities you have now? Are you consistently late, disengaged, or frustrated? Or, are you already operating like the leader you say you want to be?
Your Readiness Shows in Your Stewardship
If you’re constantly criticizing your current role, resenting your home, or neglecting your body, ask yourself this:
Are you treating what you have as preparation for your next?
You may not love where you are. That’s okay. But if you want more, you have to show that you can manage and honor what’s already in your hands.
That’s the test before the next level. It’s the foundation before elevation.
Yes, there will be moments when you feel low...when everything feels overwhelming. More often than not, the pressure is a sign that breakthrough is on the way.
The question is: Are you preparing for it or passively waiting for it?
Make Room for What You Say You Want
I want to encourage you today: If you’re going through something hard, your next may be closer than you think. Don’t give up and also, don’t just wait.
Start moving.
Start preparing.
Start aligning.
Your future self is waiting for your present self to arrive.
Ask yourself: What does readiness look like in this season? How can you make space; not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually?
When you're truly ready for next, you don't just talk about it.
You live like it's already on the way.
