Convicted and Conflicted

Convicted and Conflicted

Convicted and Conflicted

When was the last time you were convicted?

No, not in the way we normally hear that word; not crime or court related.
I’m talking about that inner tug...the moment something in your spirit says, be careful or this isn’t right.

Most of us know that feeling. It shows up as a hesitation, a pause, or a quiet nudge that reminds us we can choose differently.
Sometimes we honor it. Sometimes we ignore it. Other times, we hear it loud and clear and still go right past it anyway. Conflicted.

We’ve all had that moment where we did something, or were about to do something, and felt that tiny ache afterward. That little sting that says, we knew better.
And maybe we apologized. Maybe we didn’t. Maybe we tried to justify it.
But deep down, conviction had already spoken.

Conviction isn’t punishment. It's correction or a pivot point. It calls us to realign to who we truly are.

It shows up at work, at home, in our friendships, our parenting, even in how we move through our communities. Have you ever followed rules or expectations that align with an organization's values, but clash with our own? Has something inside ever reminded you that 'this is who I am'?

The question is:
Are we listening?

Once we realize that conviction is mercy and grace, and when we honor it, we move into correction mode. That’s where growth happens. That’s where relationships heal. That’s where integrity begins to take root again.

As we move through this week, try paying closer attention to that inner guide.

When was the last time you felt that conviction? What will we do the next time it comes?
