I Love Helping People, But I Can't Stand It When...
I know I’m not the only one who’s said this in their head...
I love helping people, but what I can’t stand is—
(fill in the blank, because I know you’ve felt it too)
That person who says they want help but drains your spirit. The one who argues with every answer you offer. The one who asks for support but isn’t really ready for change.
This episode is for us, the helpers, the givers, the ones who show up again and again with full hearts but sometimes leave feeling half-empty.
Let’s be real.
Not everyone is your assignment.
Not every cry is a call you’re meant to answer.
And that’s okay.
We dove deep into this on the podcast. I shared the kinds of people that make helping hard, the signs your energy is being mismatched, and the truth about giving when it’s not appreciated or worse, when it’s expected without gratitude.
I even walked through different types of helpers: the empath, the mentor, the enabler, the rescuer, the intuitive, and the servant leader. I actually saw myself in more than one. Maybe you do, too.
This isn't about calling people out. It’s about calling ourselves back...back to balance, to truth, to boundaries that don’t make us less generous, but more intentional.
Here's the thing: you can be a helper and still say no.
You can love people and still protect your peace.
You can offer guidance without carrying someone else’s growth.
So, if you’re feeling tired... if your yes has been stretched thin... this message is your permission to pause.
Ask yourself:
– What kind of helper am I?
– Why am I really doing this?
– Is there a mismatch that needs to be addressed with truth and love?
You don’t have to stop helping. Just help from a place that honors you, too.
Let’s talk about it. Let’s grow through it. Let’s get real. This community is built on real conversations that heal, not hide.
