Questions and Perspectives: It’s Not About Answers. It’s About Perspectives.

Questions and Perspectives: It’s Not About Answers. It’s About Perspectives.

It’s Not About Answers. It’s About Perspectives.

When was the last time someone asked you a question; not to challenge you, but to understand you?

We live in a world that moves fast. A world that wants quick answers, instant fixes, and one-size-fits-all solutions. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned from my life, my work, and my relationships, it’s that there is rarely just one right answer.

That’s why in my latest podcast episode, I shifted the conversation from questions and answers to questions and perspectives, because while answers can be limiting, perspectives open doors.

So often, we ask questions expecting to land on a single truth. But the truth is, our lived and unlived experiences shape the way we see the world. What works for one person might not work for another...that doesn’t make either of them wrong. It just means there’s more to see.

There’s a story I share in the episode that still sits with me deeply. I was giving a speech titled Your Own Grandmother, asking people to imagine how they would treat someone if that person were their grandmother. I ended it by inviting them to say their grandmother’s name. Afterward, a man came up to me and said, “That was powerful, but I don’t know my grandmother’s name.” His culture considered it disrespectful to call elders by name, so he never knew hers.

That moment humbled me. It opened my eyes even wider. My intentions were to connect, and I did, but I also learned. I was reminded that even with the best intentions, we can still miss a perspective that shifts everything.

This is why I’m so passionate about this shift from Q&A to Q&P. It’s not just about work culture, leadership, or relationships, it’s about how we move through the world. In the workplace, I’ve seen how excluding perspectives from decision-making can lead to costly, avoidable mistakes. When we invite voices from every level and when we listen, solutions become more inclusive, effective, and sustainable.

To support this shift, I’ve created something I believe can help spark better conversations: my Questions & Perspectives Card Deck. These are not your average icebreakers. They’re thoughtful, clean, and meant to open minds and hearts. I’m offering a free preview of the deck with five sample questions and a breakdown of how each one builds connection.
