Slowing Down Doesn't Mean Delayed Arrival

We’re all on the move...mentally, emotionally, and professionally. We have goals, visions, deadlines, and checklists. We’re sprinting toward the future and not thinking about if we'll have all the tools needed once we arrive. Let me say this loud and clear: Slow down.

Not in the sense of stopping the grind, but slow your thoughts. Calm the anxious energy that keeps whispering “you should be further by now.” The truth is that if you’re doing what you’re supposed to be doing, you’re already in motion. You’re already in purpose. Rushing won’t get you there faster, it will just exhaust you before you arrive.

This past week on the KimUnity Soulutions Podcast, I got real about something I often have to remind myself: I am Where I Need To Be. We want the next level so bad that we fail to realize we are learning and receiving what we need for when we get there. Whether it’s a new job, a relationship, a business, or healing, you’re not behind, you’re in process.

The decisions you make today, support the future for your tomorrow. This includes the conversations you're having (or avoiding), the habits you’re nurturing, the job you can't wait to leave, the relationship that just ended, and the person you just met in the parking lot.  You have or will learn something from that experience.  They may have the tools or are preparing you for what you will need in the near future.  So, slow down.

Instead of fast-tracking through life, take inventory. What do you have right now? What do you need? What is it time to release? At some point, we have to decide to move to our own drum, make our own music, and not feel the need to pace ourselves in alignment with other's algorithm.

Napoleon Hill said, "Your life bends to your assumptions." Think about that. Are you assuming things won’t work out? That it’s taking too long? That you’re wasting your time? Your life is listening to those assumptions. Just as they say, "What you focus on grows".

It's time to change the tune, change the pace, change the conversation and thought process and watch our lives bend to those assumptions. Self-talk.  Let's be more aware of what we're telling ourselves.  Slowing down doesn't mean delayed arrival.  It simply means we're taking inventory and making corrections, as needed, in order to get to our destination.

It's not just self-talk, let's also evaluate the conversations we're having with others. Are they of substance or simply mindless conversations? If you'd like a tool for real, deep, meaningful dialogue, check out my new Q&P Cards—that’s Questions and Perspectives. Whether you're at brunch, a family reunion, a work retreat, or chilling at the cigar lounge, these cards bring out the kind of clarity that can change everything.

I pulled one out recently that asked, "What would you do if success was guaranteed?" The answers I heard from healing a loved one to helping students pass their exams touched my soul. No lottery dreams, no flashy responses. Just heart, vision, and purpose...not even for themselves, but for others.

So yes, slow down. Take time to ask yourself the real questions. Then, go after your vision with intentionality, not anxiety.

You’ve got time. Just make sure you’re using it wisely. In the end, you will be in Perfect Timing.
