There's A.I. and There's You and I.

Artificial intelligence is no longer knocking at the door. It has moved in and started running things. From music to scripts, art and scheduling to self-driving cars, AI is becoming the quiet partner in nearly every corner of our lives. While AI is advancing, I want to gently remind us that you and I, the real, breathing, feeling humans, are still here and we still matter.

Yes, AI can generate content, analyze data, and even mimic our voices, but it can’t feel your energy, sense when someone needs a hug or when silence is more powerful than words. It can’t discern tone, read a room, or lead from a place of deep empathy. Human connection matters. AI may power your business, but it's emotional intelligence, discernment, and compassion that will sustain your relationships, your leadership, and your legacy.

This latest episode was born from an experience I had recently, where someone came to my home under the guise of a free energy efficiency program, only to bait-and-switch into a payment scheme. It was a hard reminder that too many are chasing numbers over ethics and sales over sincerity.

We need soft skills now more than ever

People love to call them "soft skills," but I call them real skills. They are the skills that make teams stronger, communities safer, and businesses more sustainable. Skills like:

• Reading body language

• Sensing when someone needs space

• Speaking truth with love

• Preventing conflict instead of always cleaning it up after

• Offering compassion that turns into action

And guess what? AI can’t do any of that. That’s our work.

What do you bring to the table?

So, I challenge you today to reflect:
✨ What do you bring to your workplace, your relationships, your community that AI can’t replicate?
✨ How are you showing up in a way that adds warmth, clarity, or care to someone’s life?
✨ Are you working on your ability to connect, listen, and lead with heart?

Because in every room you walk into, you carry something no machine can match...your presence, your spirit, your intuition, your story.

We can use AI—but let’s not lose us

I’m not against technology, I just never want it to replace my voice, my thoughts, or my impact.

AI is not the enemy. Disconnection is. Let’s not get so caught up in automation that we forget about intention. Let’s not become so efficient that we forget to be empathetic. Let’s stay grounded in what makes us uniquely human.
