They Do the Same Thing, but They're Different. Are You Treating the Present Like Your Past?

Have you ever been in a moment and all of a sudden something someone did or said triggered you to a past experience?  You heard or saw something that was so familiar that you reacted the same way you would have from the past?  Are you blocking a blessing that is designed for you?

For some reason, pain sticks with us sometimes more than joy.  We remember betrayal, every lie that we were told, and every time we were dismissed, disappointed, or misunderstood. These memories don't just linger; they build walls and block new opportunities.

I just recently experienced this. Someone I barely knew presented a great opportunity. Everything they promised, they delivered on, but instead of saying yes, I hesitated. I second-guessed its validity and couldn't help but wonder if this was a setup. Not because they gave me a reason, but because someone else had, long ago.

That’s when it hit me...I was reacting to a past experience. This had nothing to do with them and all about me.  I almost missed my blessing because of it.

I was guilty of the same thing I blamed someone else of doing.  Tune in to the latest podcast episode to hear the full story, but this is a common experience. We build boundaries from old wounds and call it wisdom when in actuality it shows a lack of growth.

I don’t have the answers, but I do know is that we can’t apply past pain to present opportunities and expect to move forward. Whether it's in business, relationships, parenting, or leadership, if we want to grow, we have to leave room for grace.

Now, I’m asking you:

What are you holding onto that might be holding you back?
What if the thing you’re doubting is actually the thing you’ve been praying for?
What’s your wall made of and are you ready to tear it down?

This is what KimUnity Soulutions is all about...self-reflection, authenticity, and growing together.
